Are you an experienced Senior Solution Architect with a strong Defence and security background? This is an opportunity to play a critical role in delivering enterprise Business Support Systems (BSS) solutions within a large-scale transformation program. You will help embed secure-by-design principles while supporting the introduction of new telecommunications products into secure and classified environments.
About the Role
Joining a high-performing Security and Architecture function, you’ll take ownership of BSS architecture design across multiple programs. You’ll work closely with Enterprise Architects, Product Teams, and Business Stakeholders to ensure new products and platforms meet Defence-grade security standards and regulatory obligations. You’ll also contribute to broader transformation initiatives, uplift and rationalise existing BSS environments, and apply modern, secure-by-design principles.
In this role, you will:
Lead BSS architecture design across enterprise programs, ensuring alignment to secure-by-design principles;
Partner with Product, Enterprise Architecture, and Business teams to deliver new telecommunications products;
Collaborate with secure operations teams on threat modelling, risk assessment, and mitigation;
Ensure enterprise solutions comply with Defence-grade standards and regulatory obligations;
Contribute architectural expertise to initiatives within classified networks (e.g., DISC);
Support uplift, rationalisation, and modernisation of existing BSS platforms; and
Apply contemporary security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, IRAP, and ISSM in solution development.
About You
You’ll bring:
Proven experience in secure Defence environments, ideally within classified networks such as DISC;
Strong expertise in BSS architecture and delivering secure enterprise solutions;
Deep familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, IRAP, and ISSM frameworks;
Ability to embed secure-by-design principles across enterprise initiatives;
Experience collaborating across Enterprise Architecture, Product, Security, and Business teams;
Comfort working in ambiguity and proactively addressing real-world security risks;
NV1 clearance is mandatory; and
Telco experience is highly desirable, particularly in BSS or product delivery.
This is a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension, offering the chance to work on highly sensitive, nationally significant programs within a mature architecture function.
